North Bay Dragons
A visual identity for a local dragon-boating team.
The Brief
The North Bay Dragons approached me to create a logo that would be perfect for their team apparel. They really wanted a dragon represented within the logo, and wanted something fierce, yet fun, and sporty.
Concept Creation
I experimented with various design concepts, both traditional and digital, to create three distinct logo options. These designs ranged from playful to powerful, offering the client a wider range of possibilities beyond their initial vision.
Font Choice
Finding the right font combination was a bit of a challenge. The clean lines of Poppins complement the bold eccentricity of Citrus Gothic. By using italicized versions, we created a dynamic, sporty feel.
Identity Colours
Working closely with the North Bay Dragons, we realized the importance of creating eye-catching apparel, especially for their racing shirts. To achieve this, we developed a gradient color scheme that not only stands out but also offers versatility. The gradient can be used as a background for a white logo or as the primary element on both white and black backgrounds.
Final Logo Design
This dynamic design features a fierce dragon mascot and uses bold, playful colors, perfect for the team’s apparel.
